When a more luxurious single glazed window is required, we recommend our Deluxe frame. Like the Heavy Duty frame, the Deluxe is face-fixed. The difference is in thr concealed fixing channel around the window, where the screw holes are located. Providing that the screws are fixed flat into the countersunk holes, the concealing gasket will also lay flat, though care needs to be taken when inserting the concealing gasket. For luxurious single glazed windows, this frame certainly meets the standard. Although more costly than our other single glazed windows, a matching, complete clamp frame, foam sealant tape and fixing screws are included in the price. These clamping windows are fitted on the inside by means of an inner clamping frame, which is pre-drilled & assembled together with the main frame to ensure that all fixing holes are in alignment. The clamping ring is formed to match the entire outside frame, ensuring a tight fit and reducing the risk of leaks. There are no fixing screws visible from the outside, leaving the frame looking tidy and professional and also allowing the finish to be unaffected by screws or gaskets. No fixing holes have to be drilled to the hull, saving on labour time & reducing the risk of the corrosion to the steelworks at a later date. Please ensure that the clamping ring is accessible in case a re-glaze is required.

Channelglaze’s Deluxe frames are our standard double glazed option. They are face-fixed with visible fixing screws on the outside frame.

²   The frame is built with a slopping inner condensation channel to accommodate for the tumblehome (inward incline) on the sides of the boat.

²   The condensation can then drain freely and easily to the exterior of the window by means of its drainage slots.

²   At no point is the double glazed unit itself sat in water, due to a raised flat aluminium platform.

²   The condensation channel traps approximately 90% of the condensation that can form on the glass and the frame. The drainage slots are positioned on the bottom of the main frame and sometimes to a horizontal centre bar, depending on which opening you chose.

All of our frames are pre-drilled and countersunk for no. 6 screws and ready to fit. They have a concealed fixing channel around the window where the screw holes are located. Providing that the screws are fixed flat into the countersunk holes, the concealing gasket will also lay flat. This frame is exceedingly luxurious, and yet it is not one that many are familiar with. It is very similar to our double glazed Deluxe frame, but, as its name suggests, this frame sits more flush to the steelwork of the boat. The concealed fixing channel is also slimmer than its Deluxe counterpart. This profile is used when it is preferable to manufacture double glazed arched top windows as an alternative to double glazed clamping.
